Tues. June 22 Solstice Celebration at the Ring of Kerry
We begin the day with morning yoga and a good breakfast before we board our coach to journey around the Ring of Kerry: a full day of constantly changing mountain and coastline scenery, stunning in every direction. The road winds between the highest mountains in Ireland and the breathtaking North Atlantic Ocean. It is here in the Ring of Kerry that we celebrate the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice. Killarney Plaza Hotel, Killarney.
Weds. June 23 Cliffs of Moher and Burren
Morning Yoga then we depart Killarney and travel north to Tarbert. A 20 minute ferry ride across the River Shannon and along the coastline of County Clare to view the Cliffs of Moher, rising 700 feet above the churning Atlantic. Pass through Burren Country with prehistoric monuments formed by limestone slabs called dolmens and miles of blooming flowers. We arrive into Galway for plenty of time on our own to explore or relax before dinner. Salthill Court Hotel, Galway.

Thurs. June 24 Connemara Tour
After your morning yoga session, tour Connemara and admire the sweeping views of boglands and misty mountains. Stop in the quaint village of Spiddal, which retains the Irish language and many traditional lifestyles. As you drive along you will see many sheep that graze freely and also tracts of bogland where some people hand-cut peat for home heating. Return to Galway and enjoy some time at leisure before dining in your hotel.
Dinner and overnight: Salthill Court Hotel, Galway.
Fri. June 25 Clonmacnoise and Dublin
Following our morning yoga we will depart Galway and travel to the center of Ireland. We’ll visit Clonmacnoise, a monastic settlement on the banks of the River Shannon founded in 545 AD. This evening we head to the Brazenhead Pub for our farewell dinner and end with a traditional ballad session by local performers. Grand Canal Hotel, Dublin.
Sat. June 26 Dublin/Home
Optional trip to New Grange and Knowth, June 26 – 28, $475
Sun. June 27 We go by bus to New Grange and Knowth
The Megalithic Passage Tomb at Newgrange was built about 3200 BC. The kidney shaped mound covers an area of over one acre and is surrounded by 97 kerbstones, some of which are richly decorated with megalithic art.
The 19 metre long inner passage leads to a cruciform chamber with a corbelled roof. It is estimated that the construction of the Passage Tomb at Newgrange would have taken a work force of 300 at least 20 years. Megalithic mounds such as Newgrange entered Irish mythology as sídhe or fairy mounds. Newgrange was said to be the home of Oenghus, the god of love. The Great Mound at Knowth was built over 5000 years ago, probably after the construction of Newgrange and before the construction of Dowth. The Great Mound at Knowth is similar in size to Newgrange and is surrounded by 18 smaller satellite mounds..
